Such a beauty. On this day, 130 years ago, the Statue of Liberty arrived in NYC. The copper landmark was a gift from the people of France. Designed by the famed French sculptor Frédéric Auguste Bartholdi and built by Gustave Eiffel, its disassembled pieces arrived in New York in 1885.
Standing tall in New York Harbor, this iconic statue has greeted those coming to America to live in freedom. She is the epitome of the nation’s core values.
