In honor of Cinco de Mayo this past Sunday, I just had to get my fix of my favorite Mexican breakfast, Huevos Rancheros.
Everyone who knows me knows that I love this very traditional dish, and even though most restaurants have their own spin,
my neighborhood restaurant wins the award in my book.
From the moment you walk in to this rustic corner location, you see the locals sipping on their margaritas or Sangrias on the sidewalk cafe. The doors open and you immediately step into a rustic- yet sophisticated- restaurant with friendly staff. The casual atmosphere lends itself to a good time with your friends and family.
My cozy neighborhood Mexican restaurant has the most authentic Mexican food in the area- no wonder it’s always packed. Not to mention, they have a nice variety of margarita flavors.
As soon as you walk in during brunch, the scent of freshly baked bread and muffins fills the air.
They have a pretty extensive menu for brunch on the weekends, which include sweet plantain pancakes, but I always go with the Huevos Rancheros that they make so well. This dish is the perfect blend of three eggs, salsa, potatoes, black beans, tortilla, sausage and cheese. Add some peppers and you have yourself a pretty good breakfast to get your day started. The side salad is always fresh and is topped with corn and lemon zest.
To start your brunch off right, their basket of freshly baked muffins, fried dough with powdered sugar and bread greet you as you await your breakfast.
As always, the experience here is a pleasure, whether you sit inside or on the sidewalk. The relaxed setting is never rushed and that is why they have such a loyal following.
