NYC Travel Guide

Have you ever gone to a place wanting to go everywhere but don’t exactly know where to go? People always ask me where the best places are.  So, I’ve decided to make a post about NYC’s best places to visit.  Whether you’re a resident or a tourist, I’m sure you’ll enjoy these places as much as I do.  Here’s a list of a few of the best places to go. (More to come…)

Cristy’s NYC Picks:
To Stay:
-DoubleTree Metropolitan Hotel.  Uncommonly spacious rooms and suites.  Freshly baked cookies at check-in. (and to my knowledge every time you ask for one even after check-in.)  I have stayed in many hotels before and most don’t make the cut.  Whether on a budget or not, you can’t go wrong at the DoubleTree.
-Waldorf Astoria. There are great deals if you look for them!  Don’t be fooled by it’s luxury style and elegance! Full of history and grace, the Waldorf is a definite place to go to stay or just visit.  (Also visit their bar/steakhouse)
-The W- Right on Lexington.  Edgy, modern, and perfect for the yuppies.
To Dine:
-If you’re in the mood for a home style Italian restaurant then go nowhere else but Tony’s DiNapoli.  Smack in the heart of the Theater District, you will see autographed items of celebrities and socially prominent residents that have dined there.
-If you want to go the Asian route, then go to the Radison Hotel’s mezzanine/second floor Chinese restaurant.  If you want a more native Asian dish, then go to Chinatown for a taste of China.
-For Greek, walk right across the street from the Radison Hotel and you’re in the best Greek restaurant.  Order different appetizers to challenge your palatte.
-Want some “NY Pizza”?  Sure you do!  Try Joe’s Pizzeria in The Village!
To please your sweet tooth:
– Serendipity (Frozen Hot Chocolate)
– Magnolia Bakery (cupcakes)
For the tourist pictures:
-Ride on the red double decker tour buses.  The guides are probably aspiring actors, so you’re sure to be entertained while you learn a little bit about New York.
-Waldorf Astoria
-Central Park-Tavern on the Green
-Statue of Liberty
-Empire State Building
-FAO Shwartz
-Rockefeller Center
To have a Happy Hour:
-Cafe St. Barts
-LOTS of hotels have happy hours!
